Position Details

Wage: $29.20/hour ($23.20 base + $6.00 provincial wage enhancement)
Status: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours/week)
Hours: Rotating shifts between 7:30am-5:30pm (occasional evenings/weekends for training)
Start Date: March 24, 2025 (tentative)
Location: Princeton Care and Learning Centre

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, engaging interaction with children through quality care and creative programming
  • Establish positive daily communications and meaningful relationships with families
  • Collaborate in planning and implementing consistent child-centered programs
  • Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate curriculum based on YMCA Playing to Learn framework
  • Maintain compliance with all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies
  • Create inclusive, supportive environments that foster children’s development
  • Document children’s learning and development through observation and assessment
  • Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

  • Current and valid BC Early Childhood Educator License to Practice
  • Experience working with children in child care or recreational settings
  • Three satisfactory professional references
  • Current Emergency Child Care First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Passion for early childhood education and child development
